Job Summary
HDR is seeking a Senior Strategic Communications Coordinator to lead engagement efforts for transportation and water projects across Minnesota. The role involves building strong relationships with clients, understanding priorities, and developing tailored communication strategies that drive meaningful engagement. You’ll translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible content, collaborate with project managers, and strengthen client messaging.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders and partners across transportation and water sectors.
Develop and execute public involvement, public relations and community engagement plans that align with client objectives.
Translate technical content into clear, accessible communications for diverse audiences.
Collaborate with project managers and technical staff on communication strategies and project deliverables.
Manage communication projects and deliverables for large clients in transportation, wastewater, drinking water, and water resources.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience.
Experience leading social media campaigns.
Service- and client-oriented personality with the ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Self-starter who can work independently or in a team environment.
Commitment to employee-owned culture.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with architecture and engineering consulting industry.
Previous experience in transportation, wastewater, drinking water and/or water resources industries.
Previous consulting or account management experience preferred.
Preference given to local candidates.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.
Effective communication by phone, email, and in person.
Ability to travel independently to meetings and events.
Benefits
Competitive salary range: $67,032 - $105,840.
