Position Summary
This position is responsible for representing, promoting, and selling all Bendix product lines to fleet, dealer, and independent aftermarket distributors across the defined territory. The role includes providing product and technical training in accordance with field sales and service engagement rules. The TAM is a strategic role requiring high technical aptitude and business acumen in the commercial vehicle industry.
Coverage Area: Western Texas, Northern Texas, Odessa, Waco, and Northern Louisiana.
Essential Functions
Accountable for all strategic customer activity in the territory; includes fleets with 250–750 power units and dealership activity for both aftermarket parts and fleet specifications.
Identify and manage strategic relationships with 30–40 fleets to drive fleet specification and aftermarket business.
Achieve key performance objectives within specified timeframes as outlined by individual and organization sales targets.
Travel 60–70% of time to customer locations, regional meetings, and industry events.
Lead sales calls at distributor, dealer, and fleet customer levels to promote and sell Bendix product lines.
Support promotions with Bendix distributors and dealers to increase product sales to fleet customers.
Consistently engage fleet customers to promote Bendix quality and brand equity.
Generate interest with fleet customers to purchase and specify Bendix products and systems.
Continuously review distribution opportunities.
Create annual business plans with distributors and dealers targeting growth areas.
Manage and execute internal business initiatives to drive growth.
Provide product sales and technical training at distributor, dealer, and fleet customer sites.
Maintain accurate customer reporting in the CRM management tool.
Knowledge
Industry knowledge of heavy trucks, fleets, OEMs, dealerships, suppliers, distribution channels, and trade associations.
Comprehensive understanding of organizational sales policies and procedures.
Working knowledge of Bendix products and functionality is a plus.
Understanding of Bendix’s customer base and operations.
Knowledge of customer reporting management tools is a plus.
Experience
Minimum 3 years (level 1); 5 years (level 2); 7 years (level 3) of sales experience in the heavy‑duty/automotive industry.
ASE certification desired but not required.
Skills
High technical aptitude and business acumen in the commercial vehicle sector.
Customer‑first attitude, focused on building relationships within the customer organization and Bendix.
Excellent problem‑solving skills with creative solution development.
Self‑starter and strategic thinker for short‑ and long‑term initiatives.
Ability to partner with customers to develop actionable strategic plans.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Professional presentation capabilities and ability to influence stakeholders.
Capability to build and utilize a strong network; team player with willingness to work in a matrixed organization.
Capable of delivering professional presentations.
Rapid learning ability.
Organized home office environment for efficient customer response.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business or Engineering, or 7+ years of relevant experience with a proven track record.
Master’s in Business Administration is a plus.
Candidate must reside within the defined territory and be within one hour of a major airport.
Must be able to travel 60–70% of the time.

Salary & Benefits
Anticipated salary range for candidates working in Texas is $75,900–$158,200 per year. Additional compensation may include annual bonuses up to 20% of salary and stock options subject to plan documents. Benefits include 120 hours of vacation leave, 40 hours of personal paid absence, 12 paid holidays plus one floating holiday, 6 weeks of paid parental leave, group health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, and a company 401(k) plan.
