Corporate Tax Manager
As a Corporate Tax Manager, you are a leader within our Corporate Tax Solutions practice. You will hold the primary tax relationship with a diverse portfolio of clients, guiding them through complex business income tax planning, corporate compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting. This is a pivotal role where you will bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic growth. Supported by our Washington National Tax Office (WNTO), you will be empowered to lead engagements, mentor a high-performing team, and identify new opportunities to expand our service footprint. Key Responsibilities Strategic Engagement Management End-to-End Leadership:
Direct client engagements from planning and execution to final completion, ensuring projects remain within budget and meet quality standards. Review & Oversight:
Perform the primary review of ASC 740 income tax provision engagements and corporate tax returns, identifying high-level tax savings opportunities. Technical Consulting:
Research and consult on complex tax matters, responding to inquiries from the IRS and state/local authorities with technical precision. Team Leadership & Development Mentorship:
Supervise, train, and mentor Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns, providing meaningful performance feedback and engagement reviews. Collaboration:
Partner with tax specialists across the firm to provide a holistic approach to the clients tax functions. Business Growth & Client Relations Business Development:
Identify and capitalize on opportunities to sell additional services to existing clients and support the pursuit of new business. Advisory:
Gain a deep understanding of client operations and business objectives to provide tailored, value-added tax strategies. Qualifications & Technical Skills Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting. Credentials:
CPA or JD/Active Law License required. Experience:
47 years of progressive experience in corporate tax compliance and consulting. Technical Mastery:
Strong ASC 740 (US GAAP) accounting skills. Working knowledge of state and local taxes, international activity, and transfer pricing. Proficiency in tax software; OneSource Tax Provision experience is highly preferred. Communication:
Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to navigate all levels of client management. Travel:
