is seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of
Energy Consultant
at our Lancaster, Ohio office.
Responsibilities
Energy consumption using advanced metering, AI systems, on-site end use investigation at customer’s location, and live meter test
Energy efficiency and savings options including customized and AI generated recommendations
Energy programs such as load management, individual and community solar, smart technologies
Power quality investigations from simple blink explanations to coordinating multi-department, remote monitoring investigation
Education of overall cooperative operations including the role of distribution, transmission, and generation
Safety demonstrations to students, community organizations, and public servants
Current topics such as impact of data centers, new energy technologies, EVs, electrification
The selected candidate will receive incremental training to achieve selected certifications within two years from hire date. Additional demonstrated skills and certifications will support opportunities for advancement within the job family. This position will report to the Energy Services Manager.
Job Related Qualifications What the job requires:
Applicants should have a minimum of five years’ experience with an energy company(ies) in areas of customer service, consultation, marketing, operations, or similar experience.
Bachelor’s degree or similar experience is required. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of five years of relevant energy experience will be considered.
Ability to work in a team environment with shared responsibilities to complete a project.
Required skills include creative problem solving, inquisitive personality, efficient time management, and friendly yet firm negotiations.
Candidates must have exceptional written, oral, and listening skills to effectively communicate with members, vendors and the public while promoting the energy cooperative culture.
Preferences:
Knowledge of electric, natural gas, or water utility accounting, billing, rates, marketing, metering, operations, and/or engineering is preferred.
Additional formal training or experience with energy cooperative principles, HVAC systems, public speaking, mathematics and/or composition preferred.
