Part‑Time | 10AM-6PM | Every other Weekend

Since 1992, we’ve led the way in behavioral health crisis care — providing timely, community‑based services for individuals and families experiencing mental health and substance use challenges.

The Opportunity We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Intake Specialist to join our team. In this vital role, you will oversee and support the intake and admissions process for individuals entering our Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) and Detox/Withdrawal Management programs. The Intake Specialist ensures a smooth transition for clients into care while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality.

What You’ll Do

Oversee the referral process for CRU and Detox/withdrawal maintenance units.

Provide support to residential counselors (both Detox and CRU) and handle admissions to both units during their shift.

Screen and coordinate intake over the phone with potential clients, care partners, and medical professionals. Understand limitations in scope, involve medical and clinical staff, and other providers as appropriate and required.

Complete registration and associated intake documentation for individuals entering care, utilizing Credible, electronic medical record, and verifying insurance status.

Prepare and submit initial and concurrent authorizations to third‑party payors and/or insurers for applicable patient billing.

Instruct and assist clients in preparation for specific lab tests, obtain informed consent, release of information, authorization, and collect and process routine laboratory specimens (for Detox clients).

Act as liaison as assigned and appropriate for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining positive relationships.

Demonstrate adherence to company policies, expectations, and behavioral competencies, both explicit and implicit.

Responsible for running psychoeducational groups and all tasks, projects, and/or duties as assigned and authorized, as determined by the Direct Supervisor and Clinical Director (or designated delegate) to be congruent with the role.

Qualifications Education: High School Diploma; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years working with individuals in the public health system is preferable.
