
Retail Customer Service Associate

Position Summary
The Store Consultant consistently delivers a positive customer experience, utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. The employee is knowledgeable across printing, signs & graphics, and shipping, and is responsible for taking orders, coordinating store activities, providing pricing and product information, and recommending appropriate FedEx Office products and services.

Follows instructions of supervisors and assists other team members in performing store functions
Assists in the training of store team members
Service
Demonstrates consultative behaviors to understand each customer’s individualized need
Provides customer expertise in printing, signs and graphics and shipping product lines and recommends appropriate FedEx Office products and services
Provides an outstanding customer service experience by anticipating customer needs, suggesting alternatives, and finding solutions
Ensures all customer problems are resolved quickly and satisfyingly
Takes complex customer orders using order systems and provides accurate pricing information
Assembles parcels and prepares goods for shipping by wrapping items, inserting items into containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels
Sets up and operates printing, binding, and related equipment using customer‑supplied media and documents
Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly retail Store
Profit
Ensures confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents, media, and packages
Processes financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal, handling cash and making change
Cleans, repairs, and stocks all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies to ensure optimal performance
Stays current on retail store merchandising materials and ensures proper display of all retail area products and signage
Takes preemptive action to prevent errors and waste
Completes required financial paperwork and may assist with financial reporting, including daily sales, close‑outs and bank deposits
Follows FedEx Office standard operating procedures and adheres to legal, HR, safety, customer service, and security policies and procedures
Self‑Management
Performs multiple tasks at the same time
Looks for opportunities to improve knowledge and skills within the retail Store
Operates with minimal supervision
Adheres to all FedEx Office standards as outlined in the team member handbook
Performs all other duties as needed or required
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent education
At least 6 months of specialized experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications for new hires or transfer criteria for current team members
Essential Functions
Ability to stand during the entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods
Ability to move and lift 55 pounds
Ability to bend/twist at the waist and knees consistently
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members consistently
Ability to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction consistently
Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment under substantial pressure consistently
Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods consistently
Ability to work with minimal supervision consistently
Ability to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours to support the business; consistent attendance and reporting required
Benefits
Full‑time employees are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and vision coverage and Flexible Spending Accounts on the date of hire. Part‑time employees who have completed 91 days of employment and worked a minimum average of 17 hours per week are eligible for the same benefits. A 401(k) plan with company match is available after one year of service. The paid time off program includes holiday pay, bereavement, sick and vacation accrual, parental leave, and military leave. Pay
$20.75 – $28.00 per hour.
