This role is based on-site at our Headquarters office located on River Drive in Moline, IL. Regional travel, mostly to IHMVCU locations, as needed.
This role is hands-on and broad in scope. You will support key HR functions including payroll, benefits administration, recruiting, leave of absence management, and employee relations. Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations is essential, and reporting/analytics skills are highly preferred.
We are hiring for either a Human Resources Specialist (3+ years of experience) or a Senior Human Resources Specialist (6+ years of experience, typically Exempt). Title and compensation will be based on experience.
Experience Required
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources
Industry certifications preferred

Main Responsibilities
Administer payroll with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
Manage employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and employee communication and ongoing education regarding available resources
Lead or support full-cycle recruiting, from job posting to onboarding, while helping create a positive candidate and new hire experience
Coordinate and monitor leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA, personal leaves, etc.)
Partner with employees and leaders to provide guidance on HR policies, performance, and employee relations matters
Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and credit-union-specific regulations
Maintain HRIS data integrity and generate reports to support decision-making
Contribute to HR process improvements and employee experience initiatives
Build collaborative relationships across departments by serving as a responsive, approachable and service-focused HR partner

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting: Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Visual Demands: Visual acuity to do things such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
