Overview
The role of the Relationship Banker is to deliver high quality customer service and responsive, consultative service to ensure both internal and external customers' needs are met. This individual will process moderate to complex transactions accurately in accordance with policy and procedures, and will handle the opening and processing of all new deposit account types and consumer lending transactions. The Relationship Banker educates customers and refers and cross-sells appropriate products and services that meet customer needs. This interaction may be in person or over the telephone.
Pay Range: $18.50 - $23.42
Responsibilities
45% Processes daily transactions and related account servicing duties with accuracy and efficiency, including routine and non-routine teller transactions, maintaining records, preparing forms and reports, daily vault balancing, and branch audits. Adheres to security measures and controls to minimize losses. May have authority to provide system overrides as required by the Branch and Market Manager.
45% Provides a consultative customer service approach to understand customer needs and deliver viable solutions. Performs referrals and relationship management in line with objectives. Opens deposit accounts and processes consumer lending transactions, and refers customers to appropriate business partners when necessary. Discusses credit reports and credit scores, conducts sales and service calls, and resolves customer issues with a high level of responsiveness.
5% Participates in community events that support the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
5% Performs other duties as assigned, which may include guiding and training other employees.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum one year experience in related banking positions preferred
Previous customer service, sales and consumer lending experience preferred
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient reading, writing, communication and mathematical skills
Basic knowledge of Decision Pro, Loan-to-Value and Debt-to-Income calculations, and reading credit reports
Ability to identify and analyze situations using criteria and resolve issues
Ability to engage with customers to identify needs and opportunities
Organizational, interpersonal and customer relations skills including problem solving and decision making
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and to work well with others as a team
Proficient computer skills
Physical Requirements

Move about within or between locations
Bend, twist, crouch, squat
Move objects up to 20 lbs
Unique Job Characteristics and Requirements
Gain a full knowledge of consumer lending in preparation for NMLS Certification under the terms of the SAFÉ Act of 2008 and become familiar with requirements for approval. Ability to obtain NMLS Certification is preferred but not required.
