
Sr Analyst Social Analytics & Insights

Sony Pictures Television is seeking a Senior Analyst, Social Insights & Analytics to join its Insights Strategy & Analysis Team. The studio produces original content for linear networks and digital platforms, with series ranging from dramas like THE NIGHT AGENT, the LAST OF US, and the BOYS, to comedies like PLATONIC, and game shows like JEOPARDY!, SHARK TANK, and AMERICAN IDOL.
As part of the SPT Insights, Strategy, and Analytics team, the Senior Analyst will lead social analytics and insights reporting relating to Sony Pictures Television series, across titles and campaigns. They will work in a consultative manner with cross‑functional teams to deliver insights that inspire content strategy, creative development, and marketing. Using a variety of social analytics tools, the Analyst will report on social volume, conversation, sentiment, and discussions to derive actionable insights to support marketing, social, YouTube, and content strategies.
Responsibilities
Deliver regular cadence tracking of trailers and campaigns (24‑hour, 48‑hour, etc.) and series (premiere, weekly, finale, etc.) across metrics including views, engagement, and sentiment.
Report social KPIs to support and inform marketing and PR strategies.
Derive actionable insights into series elements such as characters, talent, and storylines based on social conversation volume.
Identify organic and trending conversation drivers from SPT series or the broader landscape that could be applied to timely creative, marketing, and social strategies.
Partner across the team to combine social insights alongside primary, syndicated, and performance data on titles and genres.
Produce and present insights deliverables on titles, including performance insight memos and season diagnostic studies.
Coordinate with partners across Sony Pictures Entertainment and contribute to cross‑functional teams with multiple stakeholders.
Landscape & Trends
Lead custom reporting on ad hoc topics related to genres, cultural trends, or the broader landscape.
Monitor relevant industry and buyer trends via social analyses of sentiment and engagement.
Coordinate with genre leads on analyses to evaluate genre landscape and content trends.
Communication
Design best‑in‑class deliverables that concisely and effectively communicate insights.
Clearly articulate and translate complex, data‑driven insights into crisp, actionable takeaways.
Present findings to key stakeholders including leadership, development, programming, marketing/PR, EPs, and production companies.
Establish close, effective relationships with creative, marketing, and partners across Sony.
Qualifications
3‑5+ years of experience in social media analytics and insights research for media and entertainment.
Expert understanding of social platform tools and best practices across YouTube, Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, etc.
Experience with a range of social analytics software including Talkwalker, Tubular, ListenFirst, Audiense, Soprism, Viral Moment, Brandwatch, and YouTube Studio Analytics.
Familiarity with the TV landscape, including linear networks, digital platforms, and emerging media platforms, and the TV production business model.
Familiarity with analytical tools such as Tableau, Nielsen ratings, primary research tools, and Airtable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word).
Exceptional organization and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
Confidence and self‑motivation to own projects and execute them at a high level.
Ability to synthesize information across multiple methodologies to tell clear, concise stories.
Strong interpersonal and consensus‑building skills for communicating and achieving results across stakeholders.
Respectful, friendly, and approachable with a positive outlook and attitude.
Collaborative and transparent with experience working in a matrixed, multicultural, and international organization.
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Economics, Psychology, Social Sciences, Data Science, or related fields.
Salary & Benefits
The anticipated base salary for this position is $90,000 to $120,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and, if applicable, the location of the position.
