
Human Resources Specialist

Key Responsibilities
1. Employee Lifecycle & Data Management
Independently manage onboarding, offboarding, and all employee status changes (promotion, transfer, compensation changes, etc.)
Ensure all employee documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with federal and California requirements
Maintain clean, audit-ready employee records at all times
2. Timekeeping & Payroll Execution
Own day-to-day timekeeping data review and validation, including:
meal/rest break compliance
overtime accuracy
attendance irregularities
Work closely with operations and payroll teams to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Ensure payroll inputs are accurate and delivered on time with minimal error tolerance
3. Benefits Administration
Execute benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations with high accuracy
Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits in a clear and timely manner
Support benefits program administration and continuous improvement
4. Compliance & Risk Control
Ensure strict compliance with California labor laws, including wage & hour regulations
Proactively identify and flag compliance risks (e.g., timekeeping issues, documentation gaps)
Support internal audits and compliance reviews when required
5. HR Support & Execution
Provide responsive, solutions-oriented HR support to store operations and internal stakeholders
Handle high-volume HR inquiries with professionalism and efficiency
Execute additional tasks and projects assigned by leadership without close supervision
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (HR or related field preferred)
Minimum 1–2 years of HR operations experience (must be hands-on, not purely administrative exposure)
Strong working knowledge of California labor laws, especially:
meal & rest break compliance
wage & hour requirements
Experience with HRIS systems required; ADP or Rippling preferred

Remote work until November 2026 due to office setup
