POSITION SUMMARY As a Superintendent at Elmington Construction, you will lead and manage the field team and oversee all work on site. The superintendent will be responsible for quality standards, inspections, safety regulations, orderliness on-site, adherence to company guidelines, collaboration with PM team, and coordination of subcontractors and equipment/materials on site.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations â€" OSHA 30 Hour preferred. If not current, to receive within the first year of employment and keep current.
Ability to travel if needed
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and leadership.
Outstanding organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and deadlines efficiently.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Leads and models safety as a core guiding principle
Holds teams accountable to proper housekeeping of project site
Works with Pre-Construction and PM team to identify and implement all contract deliverables, quality testing, and reporting requirements
Performs a detailed review of project documents to stay ahead of RFI's and future coordination issues
Communicates any material delivery needs to project team so they can prioritize and expediate
Leads effective subcontractor schedule coordination meetings and addresses issues that may arise
Responsible for daily reports, progress reports, and compliance reports
Assists in development, planning, and updating of overall project schedule
Proactively identify problems and implement solutions in time to maintain workflow
Plans and establishes the flow of the work activities on the project.
Manages inspections by all agencies including consultants and local AHJ
Ensures all installed material is per specifications and submittals
Drives project closeout and owner turnover
Demonstrates adherence to EC policy and processes and teaches EC policy and processes to new team members
Prioritizes and actively mentors and trains others
Performs all other duties as assigned
SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE
A degree in Building Science, Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred, but can be substituted with experience.
Minimum of ten years related construction experience and/or training.
Commercial/Multi-Family Construction experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Frequently sit, stand and walk.
Regularly required to talk or hear.
Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate, though the ability to withstand seasonal cold and heat of the outdoors is necessary.
You must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
You frequently work near moving mechanical parts. You occasionally work in high, precarious places and are occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. You should be able to recognize these hazards or potential hazards a react accordingly to protect the workforce and provide OSHA compliant safeguards
