Position Title: Tranche Tasting Room Lead
Reports To: Brand Manager
Location: Walla Walla, WA
Employment Type: Part-time, 20-29 hours per week
Tranche is located at our Blue Mountain Estate Vineyard on the east side of Walla Walla, producing estate‑grown wines that reflect the unique terroir. Our tasting room serves as a gathering place for guests to enjoy our wines, live music, and winery events. We foster a culture of curiosity, creativity, and connection across our team and community.
The Hospitality Lead is responsible for assisting the Brand Manager in leading all customer‑facing aspects of the brand. This includes assisting with events including our live music series, being a lead to the tasting room staff when the Brand Manager is not available, and assisting with communications to our guests and members as needed.
This is an on‑site position requiring weekends and evening availability.
OPERATIONS & ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
Run daily tasting room operations, ensuring high service standards, compliance, and smooth execution
Lead, train, and coach seasonal and part‑time staff to reflect Tranche’s brand identity
Maintain accurate POS systems, tasting menus, and wine pricing
CUSTOMER EXPERIENCES
Host tastings, concierge services, and private appointments with a personalized approach
Help with CRM communications and outreach to members and high‑value clients
Curate exclusive member experiences, perks, and events that deepen engagement
MUSIC SERIES & EVENTS
Assist in overseeing Tranche’s April–October Music Series, the winery’s largest draw
Lead the day‑of event execution (guidance provided by Brand Manager)
Be “manager on duty” when Brand Manager is unavailable
Coordinate with musicians and food trucks on week‑of performance/reservation
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
1+ years of experience in wine and hospitality with a focus on direct‑to‑consumer sales
Leadership and team development skills, with experience managing part‑time and seasonal staff
Excellent communication; confident hosting tastings, events, and trade visits
Day‑of event coordination experience
Financial acumen with experience in reporting, cash reconciliation, and inventory management
Ability to work evenings and weekends during April–October Music Series and other winery events
Ability to perform physical tasks in a tasting room/winery environment (standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 lbs)
