TASTING ROOM ASSOCIATE
Location: Carlton, Oregon
Department: Tasting Room
Reports To: Sales and Hospitality Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time (30‑40 hours per week) / Part-time (12‑30 hours per week)
Position Summary
ROCO is seeking Tasting Room Associates who take pride in crafting memorable guest experiences and who embody the true spirit of hospitality in the heart of Wine Country. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality and wine, and thrives in a dynamic, guest‑focused environment where every detail matters.
Key Responsibilities
Promptly greet all visitors to the winery and pour wines for tasting.
Deliver a unique experience for each customer in a courteous manner.
Describe wines, winemaking techniques, and our estate vineyards and vineyard partners.
Educate guests on our membership offerings with pressure‑free hospitality.
Conduct guided tours as needed.
Operate POS and handle credit card sales.
Support teammates by assisting in smooth service flow.
Take care of daily setup, breakdown, and perform opening and closing duties.
Convey the history of ROCO Winery and HERITA MARZOTTO WINE ESTATES.
Assist with winery events, private dinners, corporate meetings, and winery buyouts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifying Skills
At least one year of retail or hospitality experience or a combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of wines and wine production preferred.
Excellent customer service and presentation skills.
Attention to doing things well and it shows.
Commerce 7 or WineDirect experience preferred.
Experience with TOCK reservation platform preferred.
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Computer literacy.
Versatile, flexible, and willing to work with constantly changing priorities and do it with enthusiasm.
Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license.

Work is mainly performed in a tasting room.
Work is often performed outdoors during the high season (patio and lawn tastings & vineyard tours).
Lively environment that requires strong focus and multitasking.

Compensation and Working Hours
Compensation: $16 - $18 per hour, plus gratuities and wine club commissions.
Working Hours: 30‑40 hours per week FT, 12‑30 hours per week PT. Weekend availability.
