Junior Full Stack Developer
Magna is seeking a motivated and curious Junior Full Stack Developer to support the development and maintenance of cloud‑native, enterprise‑grade applications. This role is ideal for an early‑career developer who is eager to grow their skills across both backend and frontend technologies while working closely with experienced engineers.
Starting Salary: $70,000 USD per year. Immediate, open position.
Your Responsibilities
Contribute to the development and maintenance of full‑stack applications using Golang (backend) and React (frontend)
Assist in building and consuming RESTful APIs (and exposure to GraphQL where applicable)
Implement new features and enhancements based on well‑defined requirements and technical designs
Write clean, readable, and maintainable code following established coding standards
Collaborate with senior developers, architects, and product owners to understand system design and business needs
Participate in code reviews, incorporating feedback to improve code quality and technical skills
Support application deployments using Docker and cloud environments on AWS
Help troubleshoot and debug issues across the application stack
Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
Work with version control and collaboration tools such as GitHub or Azure DevOps
Who We Are Looking For
1–2 years of professional software development experience (internships, co‑ops, or relevant academic projects are acceptable)
Experience developing applications using at least one backend and one frontend technology in a production or project setting
Backend & API Development
Basic to intermediate experience with Golang or a strong willingness to learn Golang
Understanding of RESTful API concepts and HTTP fundamentals
Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)
Basic understanding of authentication and authorization concepts
Frontend Development
Experience building user interfaces using React or another modern JavaScript framework
Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
Familiarity with component‑based UI development and basic state management
Cloud & DevOps
Basic understanding of cloud concepts; experience with AWS is a plus
Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications is desirable
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or automated deployments is a plus, but not required
Software Engineering Practices
Understanding of core software engineering principles and data structures
Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies
