Position Summary
The Crew Lead is responsible for leading a team of mechanics and ensuring the development of employee skills and the safe operation of daily work. The role requires effective coordination with operations supervisors, MPS, PPS, and other cross‑functional teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Work with Operations Supervisor to plan and prioritize daily work activities and projects.

Prepare daily resource plan using available employees and contractor resources.

Coordinate closely with MPS and PPS for optimal resource utilization.

Lead workgroup in executing daily work requirements.

Develop and review safe work plans, shut‑out plans, JSA’s, site‑specific procedures, project scopes, and monitor work activities to ensure compliance.

Mentor and train employees and third‑party personnel as required.

Participate in outage planning and coordination with Gas Control.

Maintain inventory and issue warehouse stock as needed.

Manage small location projects and estimate scope and cost for future budgets.

Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.

Oversee construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties, including material and contractor sourcing and coordination.

Prepare for and execute emergency response activities as needed.

Review spring and fall shut‑ins.

Complete all applicable documentation and record keeping.

Use Maximo for O&M requirements, operation and maintenance of process equipment, instrumentation, pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, pipelines, compressors, auxiliary equipment, engines, motors, cooling equipment, valves, seals, and related equipment.

Maintain, adjust, repair, and operate equipment such as industrial wheeled tractors, water pumps, air compressors, expanders, coolers, test equipment, and vehicles.

Maintain a list of emergent work items to complete.

Position Requirements – Education

GED with five to seven years of commensurate experience in compressor station mechanical operation, project management, and technical analysis.

Associate’s degree in a technical field or a four‑year degree preferred.

Experience, Skills, Competencies, and Knowledge

Extensive knowledge of oil & gas mechanical systems (pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, piping, rotating equipment).

Strong understanding of engine systems and associated exhaust and emissions‑related mechanical components.

Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical failures in field and plant environments.

Experience leading mechanical maintenance, inspection, and repair activities on production and processing equipment.

Skilled in preventive and predictive maintenance practices to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and OEM manuals.

Proficiency in precision measurement, alignment, and mechanical inspection techniques.

Hands‑on experience with mechanical tools, rigging, and lifting operations related to equipment maintenance.

Capability to develop, plan, and execute mechanical work scopes, including shutdowns and turnaround activities.

Strong problem‑solving skills to identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective solutions.

Solid understanding of mechanical integrity principles and equipment performance standards in oil & gas operations.

Strict adherence to mechanical safety practices, including isolation of equipment and safe handling of pressurized systems.

Competent in using CMMS and digital tools for tracking mechanical work and equipment history.

Strong math skills for mechanical calculations, measurements, and tolerances.

Capability to perform and oversee mechanical work with minimal supervision while ensuring quality and reliability.

Physical Demands

Must be able to withstand extreme conditions and work outside in all environmental conditions.

Must frequently enter confined spaces, climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways.

Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions and 50 pounds from floor to waist.

Must have adequate vision, hearing, and mobility to perform job tasks.

Working Conditions

Required to carry a company‑provided cell phone and be available to respond during working hours and non‑working hours as needed.

Candidate must clear a drug screen and complete a background check prior to employment.

Supervisory Responsibility

Position does not have direct reports.
