Position Summary
Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue education and experience in research under the supervision of designated faculty in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology, for a period generally not to exceed three years; performs basic science and applied research in the field of Gene Therapy and/or Visual science with considerable scope and complexity; identifies and selects problems to be studied in agreement with Principal Investigator; plans and performs complex experiments and procedures; coordinates, collects, and analyzes data; prepares research results for publication in reports, papers, journals, books, presentations, conferences and other media; prepares seminars, talks, and lectures; supervises assigned research staff and students; assists with laboratory techniques and operates laboratory equipment; performs basic lab maintenance duties; maintains lab supplies; and other duties as assigned.
Research Interests
The general research interest is to explore gene therapy solutions including gene modulation and gene editing to treat various ocular diseases, and to study Adeno-associated virus (AAV) biology.
