Social Media Manager

We are looking for a social media manager to run the day‑to‑day execution and long‑term vision of our social pages, helping to grow The Free Press audience across platforms.
Responsibilities
Create and execute vision for The FP across platforms, building out and executing on long‑term social strategy and growth goals.
Oversee all FP social channels day‑to‑day for performance, clarity, and quality.
Own the posting schedule, staying tightly aligned with the editorial calendar and packaging stories for social in a way that actually performs (copy, graphics, video).
Manage/direct a small team to implement across platforms and content‑styles.
Qualifications
5+ years managing social accounts, ideally for a news brand.
Deep understanding of what works across platforms (X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook), with a proven track record of making content go viral.
Demonstrated fluency in current events and the modern media ecosystem.
Highly organized and reliable.
Willing to work nights and weekends when needed.
Willing to speak your mind and take ownership of big‑picture social strategy across editorial, video, events, and more.
Deep understanding/demonstrated ability to learn The Free Press's singular brand, voice, and ethos.
Strong communication skills as you'll be coordinating across all teams and verticals at The Free Press.
Some managerial experience is preferred.

Have experience and a hunger to use AI tools, learning from them to improve both tactical and strategic choices for the role.
Salary and Benefits
Hiring Salary Range:
$100,000.00 – $120,000.00 (varies by location and experience)
Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Bonus eligible.
