Job Summary
Broadcast Multimedia Journalist Internship (summer 2026, 10–12 weeks) at WDAY, a top station serving North Dakota, Western Minnesota, and Eastern South Dakota. The role involves researching, writing, shooting, and editing stories across live and breaking news, sports, and local coverage. The intern may also serve as a fill‑in anchor for both news and sports broadcasts as needed.
Essential Functions
Write stories and conduct interviews on assigned topics.
Shoot and edit video and edit stories for newscasts.
Live reporting, as well as reporting on breaking news and sports stories as they happen.
Act as a fill-in anchor for both news and sports.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, or a related field (preferred).
Exceptional written, communication, and organizational skills.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company.
Compensation
Expected compensation for this role is approximately $15.00/hour, based on qualifications and experience.
