About the Opportunity
Chateau Golf and Country Club is seeking a Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance and agronomic operations of our 18‑hole facility. This is a full‑time leadership position with complete responsibility for the performance, conditioning, and daily execution of the golf course.
This is not a passive role. We are looking for either an experienced Superintendent or a high‑potential Assistant ready to step in and take control of an operation. The right candidate will be expected to lead people, make decisions, and deliver results in a real‑world environment where priorities matter.
Position Overview
The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for all phases of maintenance operations, agronomic planning, staff leadership, and project execution. This role requires someone who can run a team, manage through the golf schedule, and maintain consistent conditions without relying on excess resources.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and hold accountable the entire maintenance team
Plan and execute agronomic programs with discipline and consistency
Control daily course setup while balancing play demands and conditions
Oversee irrigation strategy, water management, and system performance
Identify, prioritize, and execute improvement projects
Manage budget and allocate resources where they actually matter
Maintain accurate records for applications, equipment, and operations
Enforce safe work practices and professional standards
Coordinate directly with golf operations to ensure daily performance
Preferred Qualifications
Current Golf Course Superintendent or a proven Assistant ready to lead
Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong working knowledge of turfgrass management practices
Experience with irrigation systems, equipment, and chemical applications
Pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain)
Valid driver’s license
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational ability
Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
