About the Job – Your Role
As a Radiologic Technologist you will perform diagnostic radiology procedures based on practitioner orders, provide patient teaching, assist in health‑care and laboratory areas when needed, monitor quality through a QA program, maintain accurate records, consult with practitioners, and adhere to radiation‑safety and correctional‑environment guidelines.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement operational procedures in accordance with Board of Radiology rules and community standards.
Maintain current knowledge of radiographic techniques, developing film, and continuing education required for licence maintenance.
Perform diagnostic radiology procedures within licensure limits and practitioner's orders, continually monitoring service quality.
Maintain accurate, concise records of all department x‑ray activities and required statistical data.
Consult with practitioners regarding patient questions or specific problems, schedule activities through relevant managers, and coordinate services at various facilities.
Comply with all rules and regulations regarding personal radiation exposure for self and staff.
Review service quality with community consultants as necessary and provide emergency services outside of normal work schedule as directed.
Perform exposure calculations and formulate technique charts to obtain proper exposure during examinations.
Provide patient teaching and assistance in positioning to obtain correct x‑ray results.
Assist with budget preparation, contribute to service alternatives such as expansion of service levels or quality improvement.
Adhere to guidelines and procedures for maintaining a secure environment in the correctional setting.
Minimum Qualifications
Certification as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist with the American Registry for Radiological Technologists and a valid Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist licence issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging at the time of appointment, or other authorised licence for head, upper extremities, lower extremities, chest and ribs, abdomen and spine.

Procedures and materials used in developing radiographic films
Phlebotomy and proper sample collection and labeling

Formulation of technique charts
Infection control and sterile techniques
Requested Skills
Caring for and operating radiographic equipment
Communicating with patients and gaining their cooperation
Positioning patients to radiograph required body portions
Maintaining patient records in all formats
