Well-established Residential Construction firm is looking to add an experienced Purchasing Agent to join their growing team.

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year.

About the Role
This Permanent Purchasing Agent will manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for all construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in residential construction and home building, with a deep understanding of purchasing, vendor management, and purchase order execution.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement purchasing strategies for materials, services, and equipment.

Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring all details are accurate and up to date.

Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors to secure the best value and timely delivery.

Identify and source new vendors and suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing ones.

Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to determine material requirements and specifications.

Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and potential suppliers.

Analyze and evaluate offers from suppliers based on price, quality, delivery speed, and service.

Ensure procured items meet required quality standards and specifications.

Manage the procurement budget and track expenditures.

Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years in a similar role within the residential construction or home building industry.

In-depth knowledge of purchasing processes and vendor management.

Proven experience with purchase orders and procurement systems.

Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Proficiency with MS Office and purchasing management systems.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail and a results‑driven approach.

Degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field is advantageous.
