Overview
The Summer Transition Program (STP) provides experiences addressing the unique transition needs of students who are Blind, Low Vision or Deaf Blind. The critical nature of transition skills and the expanded core curriculum allow students to increase independence in school, home and work environments. STP will be in person at the University of St. Thomas. Students will have opportunities to work toward transition areas necessary for independence beyond high school.

2026 Summer Transition Program: June 20 - June 30. There will be a mandatory staff meeting on Thursday June 18, 2026 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. This position will be assigned up to 75 hours of work. Staff may be scheduled both during the day and in the evening. Applicants are expected to list their availability in the application. Application deadline: May 18th, 2026.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Manager and STP directors, perform duties involved with the implementation of District policies, curriculum and instructional programs.

Assess and implement programs to meet the instructional, physical, emotional and vocational needs of students in accordance with due process, existing programming, rules and policies.

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor\'s degree

ACVREP certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist

Previous work experience with STP preferred

Authorization as a driver in current school district preferred

Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing and seeing
