About Us EMURJ is a curated luxury fashion e-commerce destination, featuring established and emerging designers across ready-to-wear, shoes, and accessories. Our perspective is defined by a thoughtful edit—elevated, directional, and made personal.

The Role We are looking for an experienced freelance photographer to support ongoing e-commerce shoots, covering both on-model and product photography.

This is a production-focused role centered on execution—capturing clean, consistent, and accurate imagery that aligns with EMURJ’s visual standards. Shoots are scheduled on an as-needed basis, depending on product arrivals and seasonal volume.

What You'll Be Doing On-Model

Photograph ready-to-wear, shoes, and accessories in a studio setting

Direct model posing to align with established guidelines

Maintain consistency in lighting, framing, and color across looks

Accurately capture color, texture, and garment construction

Product (Off-Model)

Capture product imagery, including flats and detail shots

Accurately represent color, texture, and construction

Follow established framing, lighting, and color standards

General

Work efficiently across high-volume shoot days

Deliver organized, properly named image files according to guidelines

Collaborate with stylists and team members on set

Shoot at EMURJ’s downtown San Diego studio (equipment provided)

Bonus Points

Basic familiarity with Blackmagic Pocket Cinema cameras for locked-off video capture

What You'll Bring

Portfolio demonstrating both on-model and product work

Strong understanding of studio lighting for apparel and accessories

Experience with Canon DSLR systems and lenses

Proficiency in Capture One

High attention to detail, especially in model posing, color accuracy, and consistency

Ability to work quickly in a production-driven environment

Availability & Workload

Two primary seasons per year (approx. 5 months each)

Per season: ~12 on-model shoot days and ~5 product shoot days, with shoot volume expected to increase each season

Shoots scheduled approximately one week in advance

Shoot days may be full or half days

Full days are typically up to 10 hours, including a lunch break
