
Federal Tax Analyst

The Federal Tax Manager is responsible for federal income tax compliance for companies owned and operated by Eli Lilly and Company. Responsibilities include research and development tax credit computation, tax adjustments for capital assets, and state income tax compliance. Responsibilities also include preparing federal income tax returns, performing tax research and detailed federal tax accounting computations, and calculating estimated tax payments. This role will also assist with IRS audit requests, support of tax planning, integration of acquisitions, and special projects. This position requires strong business collaboration skills and tax technical knowledge.
Key objectives and deliverables:
Perform R&D tax credit computation and various other tax adjustment calculations
Complete timely and accurate federal and state tax returns
Provide quarterly forecasts for planning, estimated tax payments, and external reporting purposes
Complete tax accounting and related activities
Track, research and advise on current and changing tax laws and regulations
Defend positions upon IRS audit as necessary
Collaborate with Tax Digital Transformation on process improvement initiatives and participate in training and pilots to build working familiarity with tax automation and AI‑enabled workflows
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree
Minimum of 2 years of federal corporate income tax experience in a large public accounting firm and/or large corporate tax environment
CPA eligible

Additional Skills/Preferences:
Understanding of ASC 740/FAS 109
Proficient in Microsoft Office
CPA certification preferred
State corporate income tax experience is a plus
Prior SAP and OneSource tax software experience

Overtime may be required at peak project times

The anticipated wage for this position is $63,000 - $149,600.
