As our Digital Communications Manager , you'll bring our mission to life through compelling content, strategic campaigns, and dynamic digital engagement. From showcasing adoptable pets to amplifying life‑saving programs, your work will directly connect animals with families, inspire donors, and strengthen our community.

How You'll Make an Impact You'll support HSPPR's mission—offering compassionate care to animals, supporting safe communities, and providing socially conscious sheltering—by elevating our digital presence and engaging our community in meaningful ways.
What You'll Do Social Media & Content Creation Create and publish engaging daily content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
Share success stories, adoptable animals, events, and fundraising campaigns
Capture and edit photos/videos of animals (training provided)
Manage and adapt a strategic content calendar in a fast‑paced environment
Use Sprout Social analytics to refine strategy and grow engagement
Strengthen brand voice and expand HSPPR's digital reach
Website Management
Maintain and enhance HSPPR's website using WordPress
Troubleshoot issues, update content, and ensure design consistency
Use Google Analytics and SEO best practices to drive performance
Collaborate with external web vendors on strategy and improvements
Collaboration & Outreach
Partner with the Philanthropy team to share impactful stories and visuals
Support email campaigns and digital communications
Manage digital display content throughout shelter facilities
Participate in signature events: Fur Ball, Pawtoberfest, and Whisker Brunch
What You Bring Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience managing social media and websites
Strong portfolio demonstrating content creation (required)
Proficiency with WordPress, Google Analytics, and SEO strategies
Experience with Sprout Social or similar tools
Strong photography/video skills (animal experience a plus!)
Nonprofit fundraising experience
Exceptional writing, organization, and project management skills
A collaborative, adaptable mindset and passion for animals
Work Environment & Schedule Typically Monday–Friday, 5 days/week
Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays required
Hybrid work option available after 90 days
Must be comfortable working around animals and able to lift up to 40 lbs
