Black Spectrum Theatre Company , a cornerstone of the arts in Queens for over 50 years, is seeking a meticulous and results-driven Development Coordinator (Grants Administrator). This contract role is vital to sustaining our mission of producing socially significant theatre and providing high-quality performing arts programs to the community.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned grant writer and administrator who can navigate the complexities of city, state, and foundation funding with precision and a narrative flair.
Job Overview Pay: $18,000.00 – $25,000.00 per year
Job Type: Contract
Work Location: Hybrid Remote (Jamaica, NY 11434)
Schedule: Flexible
Key Responsibilities Grant Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of public and foundation grants, including initial submissions, re-submissions, and renewals.
Reporting: Compile and manage interim and final reports, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Data Collection: Systematically collect relevant data across departments to build compelling narrative reports.
Communication: Act as a liaison between the theatre and funding bodies to ensure compliance and maintain positive relationships.
Documentation: Maintain organized digital records of all applications, contracts, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience: Minimum of 4 years in grants administration or arts administration.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is mandatory for data tracking and report formatting.
Expertise: Deep knowledge of NYC City, NY State, and private foundation grant‑writing processes.
Writing Skills: Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to articulate the theatre’s impact effectively.
Proven Track Record: A documented history of successful grant awards and existing foundation contacts is a significant plus.
