Introduction An exciting opportunity exists at Coshla, one of Crispy Farming’s three empowerment farms spanning approximately 250 hectares, located near Ceres in the Western Cape.We are looking for an experienced and hands on Production Manager to join the team and take ownership of fruit production and related labour operations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic agricultural environment where your leadership and technical expertise will directly impact production output, quality and efficiency.If you are passionate about fruit farming, enjoy managing teams and want to be part of a growing and purpose driven farming operation, this role offers both stability and the opportunity to make a real impact.
Manage all orchard activities including thinning, harvesting, crop protection and orchard development
Monitor pests and diseases and implement effective control programmes
Oversee fertilisation processes including calibration and application
Manage 4 to 6 operational teams across harvesting, thinning and pruning
Plan and coordinate daily and weekly production activities
Allocate labour, equipment, and materials efficiently
Ensure quality standards and productivity targets are consistently met
Implement and maintain GlobalGAP, Nature’s Choice and SIZA standards
Manage staff performance, discipline, and team development
Maintain accurate records, assist with wage administration, and support budgeting
Compile reports and manage general administrative responsibilities
A relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture or Plant Physiology will be advantageous
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fruit production, preferably on a commercial scale
Strong knowledge of orchard management, crop protection, and pest control
Experience with GlobalGAP or similar certification standards
Strong leadership, management, and communication skills
Good administrative and computer skills
Ability to work independently and drive team performance
High level of discipline, attention to detail and professionalism
