Introduction An exciting opportunity exists at Lindeshof, one of Dutoit Agri’s well established and high performing farms situated in the Koue Bokkeveld near Op die Berg in the Western Cape.We are looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager to join the management team and take ownership of fruit production and related labour operations. This is a key role on the farm, offering the opportunity to work in a large scale, quality focused agricultural environment where your input will directly impact yield, quality, and operational success.If you are passionate about fruit production, enjoy leading teams and want to be part of a progressive and reputable agricultural business, this role offers both stability and long-term growth.
Manage all orchard activities including thinning, harvesting, crop protection and orchard development
Monitor pests and diseases and implement effective control programmes
Oversee fertilisation programmes including calibration and fertigation processes
Lead and manage 4 to 5 operational teams across harvesting, thinning and pruning
Plan and coordinate daily and weekly production activities to meet targets
Allocate labour, equipment, and materials efficiently
Ensure high standards of quality, productivity, and operational performance
Implement and maintain compliance with GlobalGAP, Nature’s Choice and SIZA standards
Manage staff performance, discipline, and team development
Maintain accurate records, support wage administration, and assist with budgeting
Compile weekly reports and manage general administrative responsibilities
A relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture or Plant Physiology
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fruit production, preferably within a commercial farming environment
Strong knowledge of orchard management, crop protection, and pest control
Experience working with GlobalGAP or similar certification standards
Proven leadership and team management experience
Good administrative and computer skills
Ability to work independently, drive performance and motivate teams
Strong attention to detail with a disciplined and organised approach
