What this role actually does
This role is all about
owning and supporting critical metrology tools
inside a 200mm semiconductor fab. You’ll be the go‑to engineer for keeping tools running smoothly, fixing complex issues, and improving performance long-term.
You’re not just turning wrenches — you’re
analyzing data, driving improvements, and mentoring others .
Day-to-day responsibilities
Own and support
200mm metrology equipment
Diagnose and resolve
complex tool issues and failures
Perform and improve
preventive maintenance (PM)
processes
Review
SPC charts
and respond to out-of-control conditions
Troubleshoot defects and root-cause process issues
Identify ways to improve
tool uptime, throughput, quality, and cost
Support
new tool installs, startups, and qualifications
Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians
Communicate clearly with cross-functional teams
Maintain a strong focus on
safety and cleanroom best practices
Tools & systems you’ll work with
Hands-on experience with metrology tools such as:
Defect inspection systems (ex:
PUMA, SP1 )
CDSEM
Film thickness / optical metrology tools
What they’re looking for
8+ years
of experience in semiconductor equipment engineering or maintenance
Bachelor’s or Master’s in
Engineering or Physics
Strong background in
preventive & corrective maintenance
Experience troubleshooting
electromechanical and optical systems
Ability to read
schematics and drawings
Proven
root-cause analysis
skills
Comfortable
training, mentoring, and leading by example
Quality-focused mindset with attention to customer requirements
