Summary
The Senior Accountant will support the Assistant Controller and Controller in managing the month end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. This is a hands-on position that sits in the core accounting team and offers a clear path to Accounting Manager over time for someone who proves themselves.
The ideal candidate brings a mix of public accounting audit experience and corporate accounting exposure, is comfortable working with inventory and physical counts, and communicates clearly with both finance and non-finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in and own key pieces of the monthly, quarterly, and year end close
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
Assist with P&L reviews and variance analysis for management
Support physical inventory and related inventory accounting as needed
Help prepare financial information and support for external auditors
Maintain and improve accounting processes and documentation in assigned areas
Partner with sales, account management, and other departments to clarify transactions and resolve issues
Provide backup and support across the accounting team during busy periods (year end, physical inventory, audits)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Approximately 3–5 years of total experience:
About 2 years in public accounting (audit, not tax)
1–3 years in corporate accounting, ideally already in a Senior Accountant position
Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial statement audit concepts
Experience in a product or inventory driven environment is a plus
Strong Excel and general systems skills; comfortable learning new tools
Clear, professional verbal and written communication in English
Team oriented, steady, reliable, and comfortable in a position for 3–5 years while growing into more responsibility
