We're hiring on behalf of a well-established, mission-driven organisation based in McLean, Virginia and this is a genuinely great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional ready to make an impact.
The Role
As a
Payroll Senior , you'll be a key player within a tight-knit, collaborative team of five, supporting accurate and on-time bi-weekly payroll processing for a workforce of approximately
8,000 employees .
What You'll Be Doing
Managing end-to-end bi-weekly payroll processing (input, reconciliation, proofing)
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax withholding and filing requirements
Handling withholding orders, garnishments, and tax settlements
Conducting ongoing payroll audits and supporting HRIS system testing
Documenting and maintaining up-to-date processes and procedures
What They're Looking For
5–7 years of high-volume, multi-state payroll experience
Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) — tech-savvy candidates preferred
Workday experience strongly preferred
(other enterprise systems considered)
CPP certification a bonus
Someone who values stability, collaboration, and doing things the right way
The Package
$93,000 – $139,000 (sweet spot $120k–$125k) + OT eligibility
5 days on-site in McLean, VA (Metro commute expenses or shuttle covered)
Up to
6 weeks approved remote
working per year
Summer Fridays (Memorial Day through Labour Day weekend perks)
