Structural Design Technician – Idaho Falls, ID
Core Responsibilities
Assist in the design and analysis of structural systems using a variety of building materials, creating detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
Analyze lower‑complexity design tasks, propose innovative solutions, and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs meet IMEG, industry, and client standards.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
Prioritize safety in all aspects of design work.
Conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including other engineers, architects, and project managers—to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
Required Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in producing technical plans and specifications.
Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, including structural design and analysis software.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
Knowledge of BIM software.
Effective oral and written communication with individuals or groups.
Proficiency with the MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Education and Experience
Associate’s degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred.
Prior experience in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred.
Revit experience preferred.

Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull.
Limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises.
