We are seeking an experienced API Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust APIs for web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure security compliance, and optimize performance in a continuous integration/delivery environment. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and experience working in Agile environments.
Job Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Business Analysts and Architects on non-functional requirements
Triage and resolve technical issues escalated from development teams
Partner with business stakeholders to explore options and evaluate potential solutions
Participate in requirement gathering sessions, offering technical input
Define and document specifications for APIs and SOAP services
Write production-quality code using standard integration and API patterns
Contribute to unit, functional, and non-functional testing of APIs
Test features of new tools and frameworks being introduced
Work in Agile methodologies and participate in all stages of the SDLC
Ensure robust API security and authentication mechanisms
Monitor API performance and troubleshoot issues promptly
Conduct code reviews and implement improvements
Maintain effective documentation of APIs for internal and external users
Collaborate with frontend and backend developers to align API development
Deliver scalable, efficient, and high-performing APIs
Required Skills: 8+ years of experience in API development
Proficient in designing, developing, and maintaining APIs for web and mobile platforms
Strong understanding of API security, authentication, and performance monitoring
Hands-on experience with Stratus Mainframe/Unix (preferred)
Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams
Proficient in code reviews and implementing enhancements
Experience with Agile methodologies
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Ability to identify and resolve technical issues independently
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent work experience)
Preferred Skills: Experience with SOAP services and API design best practices
Exposure to CI/CD environments and tools
Familiarity with new trends in API development and related technologies
