We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, secure, and maintain a robust, high‑availability network infrastructure for a large‑scale aerospace manufacturing facility. This role bridges enterprise IT and industrial OT environments, ensuring seamless, secure, and deterministic connectivity for production lines, assembly automation, test systems, robotics, IIoT sensors, ERP/MES integration, and office/R&D operations. The successful candidate will implement Enterprise based segmentation, support real‑time industrial protocols, and uphold strict aerospace/defense compliance standards (e.g., ITAR, NIST 800‑171/53, CMMC).

What You Will Do

Develop, deploy, validate and optimize operational technology network software solutions for manufacturing processes, operations ensuring reliable communication and control.

Hardware identification, configuration in Operational Technology network systems with PLCs, HMIs, databases, and other control systems in manufacturing.

Configure network to meet and create specific requirements, including procedural and standard best practices.

Work with suppliers for design, documentation, and hardware configuration for the Operational Technology network.

Engage with Digital Technologies for cybersecurity firewall compliance, and adaptation for the operations technology network.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to the current and future Operational Technology network systems, controls hardware for reliability predictability.

Analyze and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements through collaboration of various teams in manufacturing.

Employ skills of forward thinking, collaboration, listening, customer focus, analytical skills, teamwork, focus on results, adaptability, with strong business ethics.

Ability to manage project timelines of work performed, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.

What You Will Bring

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience and a minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.

Expertise working with Cisco networking systems, Ignition, Logix5000, database knowledge including relational and object based storage.

Proven experience in provisioning, deploying and sustaining/optimizing a Cisco network in a manufacturing environment. Understanding of manufacturing processes and process optimization.

Must be able to work independently.

Working knowledge of Dynics brand hardware and network.

Edge computing deployment and management.

Software Defined Networking (SDN) deployment and management.

Embedded Device Operating (OS) system management.

Facilities management.

Hardwired components design and debug.

Preferred

Education — Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics, Information Technology, or related technical field (Master’s preferred).

Experience — 7–12+ years of progressive network engineering experience, with at least 4–6 years in industrial/OT networking or manufacturing environments (aerospace, automotive, defense, or heavy industry preferred).

Proven hands‑on expertise in IT/OT convergence and Purdue Model segmentation.

Strong background in enterprise networking:

Routing & switching (OSPF, BGP, VXLAN, STP variants).

Cisco/Juniper/Arista/Dell platforms (CCNP-level configuration proficiency; CCIE highly desired).

Industrial networking knowledge:

Industrial Ethernet switches (Cisco IE series, Hirschmann, Stratix, etc.).

Real‑time protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, TSN).

Security expertise:

Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco FTD/ASA), Zero Trust, NAC.

Experience with OT security tools and standards (IEC 62443, NIST 800‑82).

Wireless experience: Enterprise Wi‑Fi design/deployment (Cisco/Aruba/Meraki), site surveys, private cellular.

High‑availability design: Redundancy, QoS, failover mechanisms.

Excellent troubleshooting skills in live production environments.

Pay Range
$80,000 - $150,000

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure.

Work Requirements
This role is considered an on‑site position located in Asheville, NC.

You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.

Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Travel Requirements
Due to the nature of the work, Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Citizenship Requirement
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.
