Hiring: Buyer I (Services Procurement) – Detroit, MI
Location: Detroit, MI (Onsite)
⏳ Duration: 7 Months
We are seeking a
Buyer I
with strong experience in
services-based procurement
to manage contracts, suppliers, and sourcing strategies in a dynamic environment. This role is focused on
services procurement (not commodities/materials)
and requires hands-on experience with service contracts and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead procurement activities for
service-based engagements
ensuring cost, quality, compliance, and timely delivery
• Negotiate and manage
SOWs, MSAs, SLAs, amendments, and renewals
• Manage supplier relationships, performance metrics, and contract administration
• Oversee
total cost of ownership , including labor models, service outcomes, and risk
• Collaborate with Supply Chain leaders, Category Managers, and business units
• Handle contract changes, approvals, and service-related change orders
• Partner with Legal, Risk, and Contract Administration teams for compliance
• Support invoice resolution, dispute management, and urgent service needs
• Drive continuous improvement and supplier performance initiatives

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years of experience in
supply chain/procurement with focus on services
• Proven experience managing
service contracts (SOWs, SLAs, MSAs)
• Strong negotiation, contract drafting, and stakeholder management skills
• Understanding of risk management in services procurement
Preferred:
• Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Economics
• Experience with
EPC, construction, engineering, or professional services
• Exposure to
solar or renewable energy services
• Six Sigma (Yellow/Green/Black Belt) certification
• Experience managing
large-scale service contracts
Ideal Candidate:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Ability to evaluate value beyond cost (quality, scalability, performance)
• Experience working in fast-paced, service-driven procurement environments
