Program Manager (Denver)
Denver Metro Community Impact (DMCI), Denver, CO, United States
EPIC Program Manager
Denver Metro Community Impact (DMCI) | Denver, CO (Hybrid) | Full-time
ABOUT DMCI AND THE EPIC INITIATIVE
Denver Metro Community Impact (DMCI) is the backbone agency for the Elevating Prevention in Colorado (EPIC) initiative, funded by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). EPIC is a five-year (FY27–FY31) collective-impact effort to prevent youth substance use and violence in the Near Northeast Denver geographic area of focus — Clayton, Cole, Five Points, Park Hill, Skyland, and Whittier — by strengthening shared protective factors and addressing systemic root causes including housing instability, economic exclusion, and disinvestment.
DMCI applies the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF), the Communities That Care (CTC) model, and the CDC Policy Change Process to support a youth-centered coalition, evidence-based programs, and policy and systems change.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The EPIC Program Manager provides day-to-day operational and administrative leadership for DMCI's EPIC initiative. The Program Manager coordinates coalition logistics, partner relationships, subcontractor coordination, and grant administration so that the Executive Director, Evaluator, coalition members, and community partners can focus on prevention strategy, programming, and youth and resident leadership. This position is central to ensuring DMCI delivers on every CDPHE deliverable on time and on budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coalition Coordination & Backbone Support — Schedule, prepare, and facilitate at least one coalition meeting per month; distribute agendas, materials, and follow-up notes; support shared decision-making among youth, residents, partners, and subcontractors; track action items to closure.
• Logistics & Community Engagement — Manage logistics for community forums, training cohorts, workshops, and youth fellowship convenings — including accessible venues, public-transportation access, food, childcare, language interpretation, technology, and stipends — to ensure full and equitable participation by Near Northeast Denver residents.
• Grant & Subcontractor Administration Support — Support the Executive Director with day-to-day operations of the CDPHE EPIC contract by organizing invoice and payment documentation for DMCI's accounting team, maintaining contract and subcontractor files, coordinating logistics with FaithBridge and other community partners, and tracking the CDPHE reporting calendar. CDPHE invoicing and subcontractor payments are processed by DMCI's accounting team as directed by the Executive Director; the Program Manager assists this workflow but does not lead invoicing or payment processing.
• Programmatic Implementation Support — Support execution of the Community Action Plan (CAP) by coordinating delivery of civic leadership training, housing justice workshops, youth fellowship programs, and other coalition-selected evidence-based prevention strategies.
• CDPHE Reporting & Compliance — Prepare required CDPHE deliverables in partnership with the Evaluator — including quarterly CAP updates, monthly progress meeting materials, the Annual Performance Report, and the Sustainability Plan — and route all deliverables to the Executive Director for review and approval prior to CDPHE submission.
• Data Collection Support — Support the Evaluator with qualitative and quantitative data collection, scheduling Healthy Kids Colorado Survey (HKCS) administration in partner schools, and maintaining shared measurement records.
• Continuous Quality Improvement — Collaborate with the Evaluator to review quarterly data and implement approved Quality Improvements to project workflows and community outreach.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, nonprofit management, social work, urban studies, or a related field — or equivalent combination of education and lived/professional experience.
• Minimum two years of project management, program coordination, community organizing, or grant administration experience in a nonprofit or public-sector setting.
• Experience working in or with historically Black, Latino/a/e, immigrant, or low-income communities strongly preferred. Lived experience in Northeast Denver is a strong asset and may substitute for a portion of the formal experience requirement.
• Working knowledge of project management practices in a nonprofit, public health, or collective-impact setting; familiarity with SPF, CTC, or Collective Impact models a plus.
• Familiarity with the Near Northeast Denver community and the systemic conditions affecting youth substance use and violence.
• Strong logistics, written and verbal communication, and equity-centered facilitation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, video conferencing, and basic financial tracking tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Bill.com, or comparable).
• Valid Colorado driver's license or reliable alternative transportation; ability to pass a background check appropriate for work involving youth and community partners.
WORK SCHEDULE
Hybrid position based at DMCI's Northeast Denver office. Regular evening attendance after 5:00 p.m. is required: per CDPHE EPIC contract standards, coalition meetings, community forums, and youth fellowship convenings are scheduled at times that do not conflict with residents', youth, and working partners' work and school schedules — which means most meetings take place in the evenings on weekdays. Occasional weekend availability is also required.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Fringe Benefits: approximately $14,000 annually (paid time off, observed holidays, and employer-supported health and retirement benefits per DMCI personnel policies).
• Total Compensation Package: approximately $79,000 – $89,000 annually.
• Professional Development: dedicated annual budget for conference registration, travel, and lodging.
• Employment Type: Full-time, exempt (FLSA), 1.0 FTE.
• Anticipated Start Date: on or before July 1, 2026.
• Initial Funding Period: July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027, with renewal contingent on continued CDPHE EPIC funding through June 30, 2031.
