Job Summary
This role is responsible for hands‑on deployment, configuration, operation, and support of Azure networking services, including connectivity, routing, and network security. The position designs and actively implements Azure network architecture in alignment with the organization’s cloud strategy, while experience with AWS and GCP networking is considered. Please note, incumbent must reside in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

Deploy and configure cloud networking services such as Tenants, AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Azure Virtual Network (VNet), Google Cloud Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Azure ExpressRoute, AWS Direct Connect, and Google Cloud Interconnect.

Perform network integration work to support hybrid or multi‑cloud models, such as connecting a private cloud Data Center with Cisco's ACI with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.

Manage and maintain connectivity between an on‑premises data center environment and cloud infrastructure.

Perform evaluations, recommendations and implementations from an on‑premises and cloud network perspective.

Resolve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions.

Provide cloud technical expertise and assistance for design integration support applications, networks, communications, and operational systems with members from other divisions within Information Resources.

Work with engineers, architects, and IT support teams to establish guidelines, procedures, and provide training.

Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to automate network provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

Upgrade, patch, and maintain the overall network infrastructure upon which the private or hybrid cloud operates.

Monitor the usage, performance, and availability of the hybrid and cloud network infrastructure and its services.

Support the architecture, design, implementation, and compliance efforts for effective security, including the administration of firewalls and other security appliances.

May work with stakeholders across the organization to evaluate cloud systems and identify appropriate solutions.

Stay current on Cloud‑provider IAM (Identity and Management) concepts and workflows.

Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture including MOPs (Method of Procedure Document) and project plans.

May occasionally lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives and the work of small project teams.

Provide specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity planning.

Collaborate and coordinate cross‑functionally with various teams and manage schedules.

Ensure adherence to quality standards and provide technical guidance to team members and contractors.

Coordinate testing of network design for redundancy, resiliency, and capacity.

Provide an expert level of functional knowledge to the project and team leadership in a specialized field such as systems engineering, business process, quality assurance, organizational planning, configuration and data information systems, major enterprise‑wide technology deployments, or strategic enterprise infrastructure redesign.

Collaborate with engineers and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.

Contribute to process improvements by staying current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in cloud networking to recommend innovative solutions and continuous improvement. Evaluate and report on new cloud and network technologies.

Mentor and support the work activities of lower‑level Network Engineers.

Remain knowledgeable of changes in technology, industry practices, and state and federal regulatory requirements by attendance at training seminars, trade shows and related venues.

Implement security best practices to protect cloud network infrastructure from cyber threats and unauthorized access.

Participate in on‑call rotation and scheduled change windows whose duties include nights and weekends.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical, Education, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Business, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience – 8 years of experience in an enterprise support role and relevant experience with software or appliances used in network systems, including at least 1 year of experience in building Cloud Solutions.

Licenses and Certifications – One or more of the following certifications or licensing: CCNP, CCNA, CCIE, ITIL, JNCIE, CISSP, SP, JNCIP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Network Engineer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Palo Alto PCNSE.
