About The Role
The Network Engineer is responsible for implementing, supporting, and maintaining enterprise networking solutions to meet business requirements. This role focuses on network operations, troubleshooting, and escalation support for LAN, WAN, wireless, and security infrastructure, while participating in network design discussions and improvement initiatives.
What You Will Do
Provide Tier‑2 operational and escalation support for network incidents and service requests.
Perform proactive network monitoring, performance tuning, and fault analysis across multiple secure environments.
Support and maintain LAN, WAN, wireless, and network security infrastructure.
Participate in network design reviews, technology evaluations, and implementation planning led by senior engineers or architects.
Configure, deploy, and maintain network hardware and software.
Perform packet captures and advanced troubleshooting to resolve complex network issues.
Create and maintain accurate network diagrams, standards, and operational documentation.
Work with service providers and vendors for circuit provisioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
Participate in after‑hours or on‑call rotation as required.
Take on additional IT responsibilities as business needs evolve.
What You Bring
Strong understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ARP, SMB/CIFS, and DFS.
Hands‑on experience supporting small‑to‑large‑scale LAN and WAN environments, including wireless networks.
Experience with Layer 2 technologies: VLANs, STP, HSRP.
Experience with Layer 3 routing: OSPF; familiarity with BGP or EIGRP preferred.
Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow, RMON).
Hands‑on experience with packet capture and traffic analysis tools.
Experience installing, racking, stacking, and cabling network equipment in data center or server room environments.
Familiarity with copper (Cat5e/Cat6) and fiber‑optic cabling (single‑mode and multi‑mode).
Experience configuring and supporting network security solutions such as firewalls, secure remote access, NAC, or Zero Trust–related technologies and application.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and operate effectively under time constraints.
Preferred / Nice to Have
Experience with Cisco ISE (RADIUS, TACACS+, NAC, and connectivity troubleshooting).
Experience with SIEM, DDoS mitigation, or micro‑segmentation technologies.
VMware ESXi and virtual networking experience.
Familiarity with ITIL processes, Jira, Confluence, and change management workflows.
Exposure to network automation or scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.).
Certifications (optional): CCNA or equivalent.
Environment context: Cisco / Palo Alto / Arista / Azure / AWS (if applicable).
Education
Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3‑6 years of hands‑on experience in an enterprise networking environment supporting routing, switching, wireless, and firewall technologies.
