Located near Jackson, Nebraska, our plant promotes rural economic development and contributes to America’s energy independence. Now producing 100 million gallons of ethanol each year, Siouxland Ethanol became operational in May 2007. The plant consumes 33 million bushels of corn each year to produce a clean-burning, high-octane gasoline additive. This corn is purchased from our local farmers and elevators, and the dollars turn over in our local communities. Currently, nearly 100% of our ethanol is shipped to California, although some of our ethanol is delivered to the local convenience store, which offers a number of ethanol blender pumps.
Role Description
The Commodity Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of commodity procurement, pricing, risk management, and settlement processes. This role establishes and maintains inventory tracking systems and commodity risk positions in formats acceptable to management and regulatory agencies, utilizing guidance provided by the President and CEO. The Commodity Manager performs month-end commodity reconciliations and prepares all associated bank reports to ensure accuracy and compliance. They set and adjust posted corn basis levels for all delivery months, as well as pricing for DDGs and MWDGs, continuously monitoring market conditions to make informed decisions. Qualifications
• Hard working/team oriented
• Excellent computer skills — proficiency in Word and Excel required
• Excellent oral/written communication skills
• Accuracy, honesty, integrity traits are important
• Strong leadership skills
• Self-motivated and hard working
• Must be detail oriented
• Able to follow direction
• Possess logical problem solving ability
• Able to learn new skills and responsibilities
• Good organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures as written
• Strong business and accounting skills
• Able to handle multiple tasks
• B.A. or greater in Ag Business, Marketing or related field, preferred
• High school Diploma or GED a must
• 3 years minimum grain marketing experience preferred
