JOB SUMMARY
Arora and Associates, PC is seeking a Survey Technician to join our Land Surveying Department in New York City, NY. Applicant must be a responsible, motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong technical and computer skills, and able to work in a team environment in the office and in the field.

DUTIES

Assist in planning, organizing and directing survey crew work

Keep accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe work performed

Reduce field notes

Supervise the maintenance of instruments and equipment

Reduce and analyze GNSS data for control networks

Import field and analyze field data

Register and extract data from point clouds

Adjust conventional traverse and digital level data

Prepare survey related plans meeting department and client specifications

Coordinate with CAD technicians, other surveyors, and department manager to prepare the final deliverable

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Operation of survey equipment such as total stations, data collectors, levels and (GPS)

Using software to download survey data from data collectors

Using survey adjustment software (Trimble Business Center and Leica Infinity)

Analyzing and extracting data from point clouds

Using Microstation with InRoads or AutoCAD Civil3D

Route surveying using various methods

TopoDOT experience preferred.

Familiar with NYCDOT, NYSDOT, PANYNJ or similar state agency survey standards

Familiar with USGS and NGS survey standards

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

Ability to work on construction sites in NY weather

Willing and able to work overtime and to travel for out-of-town assignments

A valid driver's license

COMPENSATION
$35-45/hr.
