NTT DATA invites exceptional, innovative, and passionate individuals to join us as a Robotics and Machine Learning Engineer in Plano, Texas. The role focuses on advancing robotics through AI and machine learning integration to create autonomous systems.
Responsibilities
Research emerging technologies in robotics and present findings to the NA innovation team.
Provide weekly presentations and interact with technology clients.
Develop a growth pipeline with client executives for tech showcases, workshops, and proof‑of‑concepts.
Collaborate with vertical and horizontal SMEs globally.
Apply suggested ideas to client challenges within NTT DATA digital discussions and offerings.
Technical Expertise
Hands‑on development with mobile robots, quadrupeds, humanoids, and industrial/collaborative robotic arms (e.g., Unitree, humanoid platforms, FANUC‑style arms, ROS‑based systems).
Experience with tooling such as ROS/ROS3, Gazebo/Isaac Sim/MuJoCo and real‑to‑sim workflows.
Familiarity with sensors such as LiDAR, depth cameras, IMUs.
Proficient in CAD software and programming languages C++, Python, Java.
Develop and integrate AI/ML and generative models for perception, mapping, task planning, and embodied decision‑making.
Fine‑tune or adapt generative models (SML/Small‑VLM, Vision‑Language‑Action) for edge deployment.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Robotics, or related field.
3+ years of experience building robotics/Physical AI systems.
Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations for robotic systems.
Experience
3 years of experience building robotics/Physical AI systems. Exceptional hands‑on builders with strong demo portfolios are encouraged regardless of actual years.
Compensation
The starting pay range for this role is $100,005 - $157,004. Actual compensation depends on location, experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This role may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
