Job Overview
NTT DATA is looking for a Robotics and Machine Learning Engineer to join their Innovation Center in Plano, Texas. The role evaluates advanced robotic technologies, integrates machine learning and generative AI models, and drives robotics strategy by designing, developing, and implementing cutting‑edge robotic systems.

Location
Plano, Texas – this role requires in‑office work with the innovation team.

Key Responsibilities

Research emerging technologies in robotics, document and present ideas to the NA innovation team.

Deliver weekly presentations and interact with clients and technology teams.

Develop a growth pipeline with client executives for engagements, tech showcases, workshops, and technology evaluations/PoCs.

Collaborate with vertical and horizontal SME teams globally.

Apply suggested ideas to client needs and challenges, integrating them into NTT DATA digital discussions and offerings.

Maintain and enhance current autonomous solutions.

Expertise and Technical Skills

Hands‑on development with mobile robots, quadrupeds, humanoids, and industrial/collaborative robotic arms (e.g., Unitree, humanoid platforms, FANUC‑style arms, ROS‑based systems).

Experience with ROS/ROS3, Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, and real‑to‑sim workflows.

Familiarity with LiDAR, depth cameras, IMUs, and sensor integration.

Proficient in CAD software and programming languages such as C++, Python, and Java.

Develop and integrate AI/ML and generative/foundation models for perception, mapping, task planning, and embodied decision‑making.

Fine‑tune or adapt generative/foundation models for edge deployment on robotic platforms.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Robotics, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience building robotics/Physical AI systems (exceptional builders with strong demo portfolios are encouraged regardless of actual years).

Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations pertaining to robotic systems.

Proven experience in developing autonomous solutions and deploying models in real‑world contexts.

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation ranges from $100,005 to $157,004 for this position. Candidates may be eligible for incentive compensation based on performance.
