Head High School Coach
Position Details:
CHEER
Eligible employees may accrue sick leave at the rate of one (1) hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked under Washington State Law. Upon working 630 hours in a school year, eligible employees may be eligible for insurance benefits through School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) which includes medical, dental, vision, long‑term disability, life and AD&D insurance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Current First Aid/CPR card required.
Current Type II driver’s license required.
Previous high school coaching experience preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Report to the Building/District Athletic Director/Coordinator.
Attend all after‑school practices, games, tournaments, meetings, etc.
Drive the district van to transport participants.
Manage organization and administration of team coaching, enforcing all league, state, and national association rules.
Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community by modeling respect, cooperation, and professionalism.
Ensure parental permission forms and physical examination cards are received prior to athlete practice.
Cooperate with the administration, athletic director, fellow coaches and students to promote the best interests of the entire athletic program.
Assist the District Athletic Director in appointment and dismissal of assistant coaches in grades 7‑12.
Coordinate coaching methods with assistant coaches, assign duties, and evaluate performance.
Order equipment and supplies in accordance with Evergreen Public Schools policy.
Verify clearance forms and physical examinations for all team candidates.
Prepare a roster and athletic eligibility lists prior to first game.
Supervise athletes at contests, secure facilities, and ensure safety protocols.
Accompany and supervise the team to and from all contests.
Plan and conduct all practice sessions.
Work with the Athletic Trainer.
Follow district policy regarding keys and building access.
Attend scheduled school meetings; when absent, report to principal or department chair.
Arrange cleaning, storage, and inventory of uniforms and equipment.
Complete all State‑WIAA mandated requirements.
Participate in professional organizations such as the state coaches association.
Clarify letter award policy to athletes.
Recommend student athletes for special awards (All‑League).
Coordinate transportation arrangements with the Building Athletic Director.
Maintain supervisory control over all team levels.
Enforce facility regulations.
Emphasize safety precautions and injury procedures.
Report contest outcomes to the media.
Maintain records of team and individual accomplishments.
Recommend facility maintenance improvements.
Submit recommendations for next year’s schedule.
