AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the equipment that ensures our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. This role is a Logistics Specialist focusing on inventory management and physical parts flow within data centers.
Key Responsibilities
Review Data Center inventory, inbound shipments, and ongoing demand to maintain proper stock levels for build and repair activities.
Create plans with the Logistics Manager to optimize the flow of parts throughout their lifecycle, tracking location, movement, age, and turns.
Collaborate closely with Data Center Operations Technicians and Engineers to fulfill parts quickly and accurately.
Work with Procurement and Hardware Engineering to purchase new parts and interface with vendors for RMAs and replacements.
Enter and resolve data entry queries from peer organizations.
Maintain up‑to‑date metrics dashboards and generate reports for internal and external suppliers and management.
Assemble, stamp, and arrange shipment of merchandise and materials.
Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick‑ups to and from production locations.
Keep precise records of all commodities moving in and out of the company.
Safety and Physical Requirements
Logistics Specialists are expected to understand all aspects of production, adhere to strict safety standards, and maintain high levels of quality.
Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required in accordance with regulations.
Handle incoming shipments, unpack boxes and verify contents.
Qualifications
Fluent in English (spoken, written, and reading).
Experience as a logistics professional supporting inventory cycle counts, shipments, maintenance, stock control functions, and reverse logistics.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience in logistics (preferred).
