If the answer is YES, then we are looking for you. We are hiring Business Development personnel to grow our Logistics, Environmental and Culinary services & capabilities nationally. Successful candidates will hunt new clients and will nourish & build stronger relationships with existing clients.
Key Responsibilities
Research competitors, market activity, and project pipelines within data center sectors
Prospect and expand target accounts including contractors, developers, and facility leaders
Build strong relationships with decision-makers and secure virtual and on‑site meetings
Align Cotton’s logistics, and construction solutions with client operational and emergency needs
Generate leads through cold calling, networking, site visits, and industry events
Track outages, expansions, and capital projects to proactively position Cotton for opportunities
Partner with internal teams to drive proposals, close deals, and increase revenue
Represent Cotton professionally and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships
Utilize CRM and marketing tools to manage pipeline and increase results
What You Bring to the Table
7+ years of proven business development and account management experience with general contractors, mission‑critical facilities, utilities, power/energy, or industrial services environments
Experience selling field‑based or rapid‑response services such as disaster recovery, emergency restoration, temporary infrastructure, workforce housing, logistics, environmental remediation, or facility support services
Established relationships with data center operators, hyperscalers, colocation providers, EPCs, general contractors, utilities, co‑ops, municipalities, and facility/plant leadership
Demonstrated success with cold calling, territory prospecting, and building a pipeline from the ground up
Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, on‑call environments, with the ability to quickly mobilize and respond to outages, storm events, or critical facility incidents
Strong customer service, relationship‑building, and negotiation skills with operations, procurement, and executive stakeholders
Self‑motivated, focused, and capable of working independently while managing priorities and follow‑through
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with professionalism and strong attention to detail
High work ethic with resilience, grit, and hunter mentality; driven to win new business and grow market share
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with enterprise ERP systems such as IFS and Salesforce
Other Requirements
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time, as business needs require
Ability to communicate effectively face to face, telephone and via video telecommunications
Must be able to drive a vehicle and provide a good driving record
Strong presentation and negotiation skills
