Production Supervisor
The purpose of the Production Supervisor is to lead, oversee, and optimize the production processes to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality metal fabrication. This role plays a crucial part in achieving operational excellence by managing and motivating a team of skilled workers, coordinating workflow, and maintaining equipment. The Production Supervisor is responsible for meeting production targets, minimizing downtime, and upholding strict quality control standards. Their leadership and problem-solving skills are instrumental in driving productivity, reducing waste, and ensuring a smooth and effective manufacturing operation, ultimately contributing to the company's overall success and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include ensuring team members are aware of and adhere to safety rules and equipment usage, maintaining clean, neat, and orderly work areas within the team, managing team performance to ensure quality standards are met, coordinating effective training for team members, collaborating with other teams to ensure efficient plant operation, continuously improving team performance and measuring progress toward team goals, scheduling and coordinating resources, including manpower and machinery, managing supplies inventory, overseeing the maintenance of team facilities and equipment, ensuring accurate computer transactions, developing and maintaining staffing and succession plans, operating within the team budget, contributing to division capital projects and strategic plans, developing and executing a team operational plan, demonstrating technical expertise in the area of responsibility, and achieving key metrics as defined for each reporting period.
Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field or relevant work experience preferred, three to five years of supervisory experience preferred, exposure to other Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is advantageous, ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and regulations, proficient in writing reports and business correspondence, effective in presenting information and responding to questions from various stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, peers, and staff, basic math skills, and competencies needed to function fully within the position including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and JDE (Job Data Exchange) with specified knowledge level. Special physical requirements include regularly using hands, reaching, and communicating, frequently standing, walking, and sitting, occasionally climbing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, and specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
