Responsibilities

Address the needs of a diverse student population through course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.

Teach one or more undergraduate seminars in Art, including “The Artist in Contemporary Culture” and “Medium and Message.”

Courses may be hybrid or online but include a substantial studio component.

Participate in departmental meetings and assessment and evaluation activities.

Encourage critical thinking and iterative concept development in class assignments.

Demonstrate inclusive teaching practices for students of varied ages, abilities, cultural backgrounds, and identities.

Organize all classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).

Deliver all scheduled classes in the assigned format throughout the semester or term.

Qualifications

Master of Fine Arts or Ph.D. in Art History, Visual Culture, or related field.

Significant experience teaching studio art at the university level.

Clear demonstration of artistic and/or scholarly achievement, including a substantial portfolio of creative work and research interests.

Familiarity with emerging areas of artistic practice and theory.

Strong reading, writing, and assessment skills for undergraduate students.

Awareness and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural student population.

Compensation
Salary ranges are based on qualifications and experience. Anticipated monthly salary for full‑time faculty:

L-A / Range 2 – $5,507 – $5,959

L-B / Range 3 – $6,221 – $7,481

L-C / Range 4 – $6,825 – $9,431

L-D / Range 5 – $8,593 – $10,347

Part‑time rates are prorated. For more information, refer to the Faculty Salary Schedule.
