Position Goal: Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lessons, plan Instruction, evaluate and monitor students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning with a complete understanding on how relevant instruction is correlated to retaining and recruiting students to CSS.
Minimum Qualifications:
Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
AZ Driver’s License
Experience with Project Based Learning
Experience with Virtual and In Person Instruction
Preferred Qualifications:
Appropriate Arizona Teaching Certificate (Preferred)
Structured English Immersion (SEI) Preferred
Bilingual
Three years of teaching
Experience in working with cultural, ethnic, and language diversity
Basic Necessary Skills and Commitments:
Ability to remain flexible to changes in assignments or situations
Ability to perform a variety of specialized tasks; maintain records; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and school personnel; work as a team member; and meet schedules and deadlines
Ability to use a variety of teaching strategies which may include cooperative learning, constructive instruction, or additional research-based facilitation
Ability to define excellence by standards of performance
Knowledge and application of quality classroom-based assessment practices

Essential Job Functions:
Prepare lesson plans and instruct students in accordance with established curriculum and student need for both in person and virtual learning.
Assess student needs and performance. Develop, implement and evaluate daily lesson plans, to include scheduled activities and materials. Modify instruction to meet the needs of each child.
Plan, organize and display classroom materials appropriate to curricular activities.
Use and implement classroom management techniques to maintain organization, orderliness, student safety, and a productive learning environment.
Understand the implementation of restorative practices.
Plan instruction and implement instructional techniques to encourage and motivate students.
Evaluate students’ performance regarding achievement in curriculum and activities. Make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
Inform parents of student progress and school activities and/or absences. Advise parents of instructional methods that may assist students.
Participate as a member of an instructional team to promote learning activities for students, consistent with district and school education objectives.
Notify site administrator of the special needs of students who display characteristics that vary from the norm.
Collaborate with specialists as needed to assist students.
May monitor the activities of a teacher assistant and classroom volunteers.
Monitor control of students, volunteers and/or assistants in the classroom, playground, fieldtrip, lunchroom, library, school buses and other areas as applicable.
Exhibits strong communication skills – verbally and in writing. Read, analyze and evaluate student progress and course curriculum, written materials to include written assignments and exams.
Develop, implement and evaluate plans to manage the classroom.
Promotes learning and ensures safety.
Demonstrate strong student advocacy.
Other duties as assigned.
