TITLE: Elementary Specialist - Art
CLASSIFICATION: Instructional Support
PAY GRADE15: $20.43 - $21.53 (based on education and experience)
REPORTS TO: Special Area Teacher Leader and Principal
Benefits eligible: This position is eligible for employee level medical coverage, dental, and vision. It is also eligible for sick and personal days.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: Associate’s degree or, two (2) years college credit or, completion of 1,000 hours in the past year as a paraprofessional or successful completion of Para-Pro Assessment Test.
Substitute Permit – must apply and obtain a substitute permit through the Indiana Department of Education Licensing - https://license.doe.in.gov/
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, familiarity with email systems, ability to learn systems such as, but not limited to, smart boards, document cameras, projection systems, sound systems, and digital technology.
Responsibilities
Teaches and executes the NAFCS approved Art programs.
Maintains word wall, artist spotlight, ICAN, bulletin boards, and student spotlight walls by keeping them up to date.
Implements and instructs provided monthly artist lessons in a timely manner to ensure cohesiveness in all elementary schools.
Participates in the Library Spring Art Show by submitting art to Teacher Leader.
Communicates with administration about the possibility of one extracurricular art show in which you may be compensated for extra fifteen hours of time to prepare and implement.
Ensures subfolder including all necessary materials, including lesson plans, is up to date, and easy to find.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the administration and/or other designee.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
