Library Media Specialist (Grades 6–12)
Cognita Asia Holdings Pte Ltd, Oklahoma City, OK, United States
Position: Library Media Specialist (Grades 6–12)
Location: Stow, Massachusetts, Masters Academy International
Start Date: August 1, 2026
The Opportunity
The Library Media Specialist (LMS) is a key instructional partner, collaborating with faculty to help students and educators engage effectively with information in the digital age. The LMS ensures equitable access to resources across physical and virtual spaces, fosters inquiry and creativity, and supports critical thinking. This role applies expertise in information literacy and AI integration, guiding students, faculty, and staff to use emerging tools responsibly while promoting original work, ethical practices, and student privacy. Through co‑teaching and professional development, the LMS empowers students to become self‑directed creators and thoughtful, critical thinkers.
What You Will Do
The Library Media Specialist collaborates and co‑teaches with classroom educators to establish learning objectives, design evidence‑based curricula, and develop inquiry‑driven learning experiences. They teach multiple literacies—including information, media, visual, and technological—empowering all members of the learning community as researchers, creators, and critical thinkers. The LMS helps students become self‑directed creators who produce original work through critical thinking and authentic problem‑solving, while guiding them to use AI tools thoughtfully as supplements, not replacements, for their own judgment. Additionally, the LMS evaluates, selects, and integrates emerging technologies, supports educators in incorporating digital research tools, plans and develops the library media program in alignment with school and district objectives, and builds partnerships with students and families to foster each learner’s academic and personal growth.
Who You Are
We are looking for a Library Media Specialist who brings a vision for a student‑centered program grounded in collaboration, leadership, and technology. The ideal candidate thinks systemically, considering how changes—such as the introduction of new AI tools—impact privacy, academic integrity, accessibility, and equity. They can teach complex ideas to diverse audiences, adapting their approach to meet each learner’s needs, and bring a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for student success and well‑being. We seek someone who approaches their work with humility and curiosity, values collaboration, actively seeks feedback, and is committed to continuous learning. The successful candidate demonstrates courage and sound judgment, facing challenges directly, acting with integrity, and taking thoughtful risks to support student growth, while adapting effectively to changing priorities and environments with a flexible, learning‑oriented mindset.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range is $80,000. Eligible benefits include medical, life insurance, a 401(k) savings plan, and more.
